BAGB Councils and Committees

With 5 Councils and 5 Committees, there are numerous opportunities for you here at BAGB. Participating in a Council or Committee is a fantastic way to network as well as educate yourself. We invite you to take advantage of the intriguing programs that BAGB has to offer.

Your membership is what you make of it. We encourage you to make the most of it and look forward to seeing all of you at a BAGB Committee or Council meeting this month. Please take a look at the calendar for upcoming meetings.

50+ New England Housing CouncilThe 50 + New England Housing Council serves the needs of HBA members in the Northeast region who are involved in all aspects of active adult communities including design, development, finance, ownership, management, and sales and marketing. Members of the New England council gain knowledge of current trends in the market and insights through attending regional symposiums and networking events and have access to research and specialized publications. Membership also has the benefits of being a member of the NAHB's Senior Housing Council.

The Custom Builders & Remodelors CouncilThe Custom Builders & Remodelors Council brings together custom builders and remodeling contractors for discussions on business development, marketing, contractor/architect/owner relationships, quality, workforce development and other common issues. The council promotes both custom building and remodeling to the general membership through regularly scheduled meetings, educational programs, and a council sponsored annual dinner meeting. The custom builder and remodelor designation is unique to BAGB- Members who elect to join the BAGB council also become a member of NAHB's Remodelors Council.

The Multifamily CouncilThe Multifamily Council focuses its attention on issues related to expanding development opportunities for the production of multifamily housing including: financing, property management, government regulations, legislation, and other issues related to the rental housing market. BAGB Multifamily Council members participate at the national level through NAHB's Multifamily Council.

Co-Chairs: Michael Radner & Michael Kim

The Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) promotes professionalism in sales and marketing in the residential building industry. A primary function is to help builders sell homes more effectively while at the same time providing a sales and marketing resource that appeals to the whole spectrum of the BAGB membership. The council offers and promotes sales and marketing training and education and provides a forum for members to discuss sales and marketing best practices.

The Green Council provides opportunities for professionals in the residential building and remodeling industry in Massachusetts to learn about the latest in green building design, technology, techniques and tools to improve builder and consumer understanding of what "Green" is and how to incorporate "Green" into future project. Membership is available to all members of the Builders Association of Greater Boston. The Green Council holds regular informational meetings where expert presenters provide updates and education on this rapidly developing field.

The Membership Committee is charged with the recruiting of new members and the retention of current members.  Working with the BAGB Membership Coordinator the committee establishes membership goals and promotes campaigns and programs designed to grow and maintain the BAGB membership including; new member recruitment programs, membership drives, and recognition (Spike Awards) of outstanding effort in this area by individual members.

Members have the option of joining the Recruitment Committee or the Ambassador Committee

The Education Committee is charged with developing and overseeing educational programs including the Builders Licensing Course. The committee focuses on professional and workforce development education and training offerings and has a safety sub-committee dedicated to establishing timely safety training and information.

The Parade of Homes Committee
Parade of Homes are conducted nationally by builder associations to open one-of-a-kind custom homes, model homes, condos, and remodeled homes for the viewing public. These homes represent a wide range of what is available in today’s market in terms of price and products. The homes will be located throughout the greater Boston area and range in price from entry level to multi-million dollars.

The Program and Events Committee plans and oversees the annual BAGB winter ski and summer golf outings. Members are invited to participate in committee activities from planning, fundraising, sponsorship, and volunteering to assist the BAGB staff at both events.

Chairperson: Fred Adams

The Associates Committee encourages associate member involvement in all aspects of the association and taking advantage of working with other councils and committees to introduce their products and services through networking, sponsorship, education, and other opportunities that promote members doing business with members.
